Topic 6 Atmosphere and Climate Change

Check out my YouTube channel!

Topic 6 examines the necessity of Earth’s atmosphere for all life on Earth and revisits the climate processes that influence the distribution of biomes around the world.

We study the scientific processes leading to climate change and the human perspectives that may help or hinder our response to it. We also evaluate different ways to combat climate change and approaches that may be required to adapt to it.

You can find resources for each subtopic by following the links below.

6.1 Introduction to the atmosphere

  • How do atmospheric systems contribute to the stability of life on Earth?

6.2 Climate change — causes and impacts

  • To what extent has climate change occurred due to anthropogenic (human-generated) causes?
  • How do differing perspectives play a role in responding to the challenges of climate change?

6.3 Climate change — mitigation and adaptation

  • How can human societies address the causes and consequences of climate change?

6.4 Stratospheric ozone

  • How does the ozone layer maintain equilibrium?
  • How does human activity change this equilibrium?
